Akatre Atelier is a design studio like no other. Founded by Valentin Abad, Julien Dhivert and Sebastien Riveron and based on principles of exploration, creativity and innovation, this design atelier takes it to the next level.
Akatre is categorised by the subsections of art, design, photography, typography and video, with an interconnecting flow of versatility. This shows the diversity of the atelier, their ability to shift fluidly between the confines of regular studios, and create entirely new projects.
There is no way of pinning down an exact aesthetic to the studio, they are creative in the sense that they’ll try anything once. Thick paint is poured down people’s torsos, Bernard Wilhelm x Camper shoes are strung up by their strings, and hair lies disembodied. There is a sense of eternal inspiration, of inspiration feeding off inspiration and creativity bouncing off creativity.
This is a self-sufficient source of creative energy, one that can never be extinguished by boundaries and deadlines. An entire exhibition could be curated from their array of works. When all hope is lost for design, these are the sorts of creatives we will be looking towards.
