CELESTE TESORIERO
BANG! BANG! Celeste Tesoriero shot me down...
Introducing Celeste Tesoriero’s Autumn/Winter 2013 collection, “Riders of the Storm”. Think cowboy chic meets modern day geisha meets sexy leather gangster meets varsity baseball team. I am living for this collection.
“Riders on the Storm was initially influenced by paintings from the 1800s of battles at sea; tempered waves, cannon smoke, planks of wood, shredded sails, flames and treasures sinking to the mysteries of the ocean depths”.
Celeste Tesoriero has been anchoring (pirate pun intended) several international labels over the past five years, but has since (pirate) shipped back into Australian shores with this incredible collection that is just BANG! BANG! (I am loving that vintage revolver print).
I am stunned by Tesoriero’s ability to seamlessly fuse the different styles from different countries and cultures into one wearable collection; she was inspired by the places she has visited and how they have affected her own day-to-day fashion choices. You would figuratively become a citizen of the world when wearing these clothes!
The mixture of leather appliqué on classic denim, silk linens and baseball jackets are daring, but successful - I feel the word dangerous is appropriate. You have some subtle elements of romantic innocence and strong military influences, mixed with oversized silhouettes that are sexy and simple, not to mention a palette that dares to mix neon orange with sorbet blues, soft pinks with olive greens! This collection warrants the attention of a strong and powerful woman; the type of gal who dares to show some skin under her tailored white blazer with matching mini skirt (my favorite pieces).
There really is something for everyone, which is rare to find in any designer collection. Diversity is what this world is about, so why shouldn’t it be reflected in our choice in clothing, no matter where we are!
The collection is available in select boutiques through out Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales, and online at Rock and Royaland The Accessory Collective.
