JUUN.J
Having cut his design teeth at Seoul’s ESMOD in the early 90s, the 2007 launch of Juun.J’s self-titled label during the men’s showings at Paris Fashion Week was met with great industry acclaim through his deconstruction of traditional ideas in the menswear sector of the global fashion industry. What we were left with as a result was a modern, sleek and all-round incredible menswear line celebrated for its attitude just as much as it’s aesthetic. And it’s this that has got us all talking again, but this time the chatter is collection-based, and we want more, more, more!
Juun.J’s latest SS 13/14 offering sees fresh suiting options for the modern man finished with a fluid ease, luxe leathers, classic navy pinstripes, deliciously sculptural silhouettes pushing the ever-present sporting trend gracing industry platforms with functional necessity, crisp whites, marbled graphics and a reinvention of the trench and raincoat, all of which are projected via ultra-modern and fabulously chiselled specimens (with better legs than the average fitspo female, I might add).
Stocked in Melbourne’s Marais Boutique, all of you lucky Melbournians had better get onto the Juun.J phenomenon, and fast! The rest of us are hollering a plane, jumping on-board and snapping at your patent-clad heels.
