HAPPY LITTLE ACCIDENTS
Founded in 2013, Happy Little Accidents is a fresh graphic design studio that has been making waves in and amongst the design world, despite their tender age of less than two years.
Based in Weimar, Germany, Happy Little Accidents’ graphic design is clean cut, refined and minimal, with a constant pursuit for high quality in their work playing a central part of the studio’s ethos.
After working together in several freelance and applied projects over recent years, graphic designers Tobias Dahl and Patrick Martin decided to join together in studio, creating their design brain child Happy Little Accidents.
When looking at their youthful body of work, what becomes undeniably clear is the pair’s adept skill and thoughtfulness throughout their design process that goes into each and every thing they do. It’s no surprise to learn that both Dahl and Martin are visual communication graduates from Bauhaus University, with their shared wealth of design ingenuity and knowledge proving them to be serious contenders in the design world having already won several national and international design awards.
Working across an array of graphic design fields, Happy Little Accidents develop manifestations for various cultural institutions and events, design publications and websites, create identity designs for projects, clients, exhibitions and records, as well as teaching workshops at the Bauhaus University.
With an always clever play on typography, line, geometric shape and pattern, the duo’s reduced colour palette allows them to primarily work with monochromatic shades, whilst colour is used to idiosyncratically entwine with each unique project that Happy Little Accidents undertake and create. Their design work is by no means an accident, but it sure is making us, and a lot of others, pretty damn happy.
