LRNCE
Introducing your soon-to-be, new favourite, favourite, accessories label, LRNCE. With an ability to combine an array of unique fabrics, materials and prints with perfect harmony, the result is seriously impressive pieces that are both striking and practical.
What began as a continuation from her third year collection, LRNCE has quickly become a widely recognised and praised accessories label with Belgian designer Laurence Leenaert at the helm. And their acclaim comes as no surprise when you look at her refreshing take on backpacks, shoulder bags and duffle bags.
Fascinated by religion, her collection and design aesthetic is greatly inspired and based around various rituals and iconography of cults, communities and ethnic tribes. Using fabric and materials that are not typically associated with apparel and accessories design, Leenaert assembles and reinterprets them to form a beautifully succinct piece that will ensure some serious weak at the knees action.
“I like to experiment with materials that are not intended for clothing,” she explains. “Every piece is unique and there is only one of it. I think it’s important for my product that it is exclusive.”
As a designer, Leenaert knows how to combine pastels, gold foil, geometric prints, mesh panels and more to produce relaxed yet eye-catching pieces. LRNCE makes the kind of bags you could see both walking under the bright lights of the runway, and atop the shoulders of young creatives on the street.
