Only three years have past since freelance photographer Nicole Maria Winkler graduated from the London College of Fashion, and in that time not only has she juggled residencies in both London and Vienna, but the talented youngster managed to score editorials for the likes of, among others, Vivienne Westwood, Dazed&Confused, ELLE Collections (UK), Oyster, Hussein Chalayan, i-D online, Dossier Journal and HUSK.

She mixes portraits with landscapes and studio snaps with (moving image) screenshots. Although not entirely poppy, her photographs are bright, sharp and at times, a little risky. A little edge goes along way, don’t you think? What’s interesting is, I can’t tell if each shot has been strategically planned to the finest of details, or are spontaneous acts of perfection; either all, her fresh photography style resonates so well with the always changing nature of fashion. You don’t know what she’ll do next.
