THISISTHERE
I come across great graphic design blogs all the time; I ‘Add Bookmark’ so regularly that my Safari is basically a Yellow Pages. I’ve only recently started browsing my directory more regularly, hence the rediscovery of TheThisThere , a blog of which I originally thought was curated by some blogger with great taste. If only I had taken the time to read “this blog shows experiments, ideas, and everything else that I’ve done from 2007 until now” before archiving, I would have shared this talented Potsdam-based designer ages ago. TheThisThere is all Friedemann Albert’s work, and my god it’s fantastic!
You may have come across his work or blog before; a diverse and stellar collection of, for want of a better word, stuff, that you’d assume is the product of an entire class of designers. I could delve into Alberts creative process, which does include making prints out of vegetable coloring and typographic sculptures from inflatable garbage bags, but I feel like the work can and does speak for itself.
Make sure you scroll throughout Friedemann Albert’s Tumblr, and if you, like me, have an abundance of blogs stored away somewhere for “later reference” (in other words, never visited again), go check them out! The internet is an amazing source of inspiration. In between loading animal gifs and refreshing your ask box, make sure you invest some quality time in (focused) browsing; there are so many gems waiting to be (re)discovered.
