With a combined 35 years of experience behind them, the trio behind AKU share a great level of skill and understanding in graphic design and communications. Based in the capital city of Estonia, Tallinn, AKU was founded in 2012 by Kaarel Kala, Uku-Kristjan Küttis and Alari Orav.

Always thoughtful in their approach to the various clientele, projects and commissions, AKU begin their design process with a simple question: “Why?” It is then through research and their own intuition that AKU attain their designs, each of which possessing a rare duality in their completion. A finish that is both aesthetically pleasing to any pair of eyes, as well as conceptually sound and meaningful to the client.

Küttis states, “Design is not a magic word which all of a sudden starts to operate... Good design should be a part of people’s lives, it should make us feel better, easier and even happier...”

Aligning still life and flat lay images with beautiful precision, producing clean cut designs with impressive control, and doing so all against an array of considered colour combinations, AKU caters for the eye while the rest of our senses naturally follow.
