This is a story about a girl, her Nikon and a great big love affair. Okay, that may have been taken from her blog, but Vanessa Jackman is nevertheless a creative talent to watch. Australian lawyer turned photographer, Jackman is fast becoming another Aussie expat to keep tabs on when it comes to the global creative industries.

So what is the formula for achieving this kind of status if you’re a blog writing, people loving, Nikon toting globe trotter? In Jackman’s case, its street style plus unusually exquisite people equals genius. Known for her street photography, Jackman’s love of lens work is translated in her imagery through what is essentially a fluid, unpredictable and keen eye for people and places. Fashion weeks in New York and Paris see her capture the world’s top models in all of their off-duty splendour, with a resolution so intimate it would seem that she’s spent her afternoons styling a bunch of hyper-cool friends just to snap them on the Manhattan kerb or around the Tuileries. And when she’s not trailing the models, she’s following the commentators, counting Moda Operandi’s Taylor Tomasi Hill, couturess (yes, I made up a word) Ulyana Sergeenko and Russian dynamo Miroslava Duma subjects.

Oh yeah, and she also has editorials in more Glamour’s and Vogue’s than you can poke a fabulously on-trend stick at. I mean honestly, could this chick get any cooler?
