PUTPUT
Meet PUTPUT, an interdisciplinary Swiss/Danish art duo who reconfigure, re-invent and question the purpose, context and expression of common objects. They’ve transformed sponges into popsicles, luffas into plants and a glass vase into produce... Professor McGonagall would be most impressed!
Occupying the space between input and output, PUTPUT tease the conceptual connections between photography, styling and design. Based in Copenhagen, the talented team strive in turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. If you thought transforming animals into water goblets was impressive, you’ve got another thing coming.
“We stand up to the chaos of the world by means of form, guided by curiosity we choose not to believe in readymade sense and set out to capture the previously unseen by transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.”
We’ve seen quite a few artists of late explore the duality of objects, all with their own signature qualities and purpose. PUTPUT’s highly stylized poppy visual universe is created with the intent to cause a visual double take. Is that what I think it is?! It’s fun, it’s vibrant and it’s fresh! 50 house points for PUTPUT!
